Pre-Construction Process
Introductory Meeting
When we first meet, we’ll discuss your goals and budget, work to understand your key issues and concerns, review BoWood’s approach to designing and building your cabinetry, and ensure that we are aligned so that there are no surprises as your project process advances.
Finding Your Style
We offer a curated collection of our work and idea books of some of the most stunning cabinetry from all over the world. Plus lifestyle images of Iowa gives you an insider’s perspective of living in the great Midwest. Together with your notes and ideas, we hone in on exactly what it is you love.
Team & Budget
Once we have your initial style, budget and poject goals, we will meet again to discuss your specific client requirements and wishes, as well as determine the best way to meet your overall budget within the agreed upon scope of work. We will have BoWood team members, interior designers, and you, our client, in attendance at this meeting.
Location & Design
BoWood Company can assist you with cabinetry layout and design, help you work with our preselected list of designers, or review designs you already own. Either way, the professionals that comprise our team understand the challenges and opportunities that different designs presen,t and we will work hard to find the best layouts and solutions for you and your project.
Construction Process
Timeline
Since our projects are custom, schedules depend on the size and complexity of your project or projects currently in our shop. We update our schedule weekly to ensure we are staying on track to accommodate the inevitable changes caused by construction delays, unforeseen events, etc.
Progress Photos
We believe in keeping you informed every step of the way. This includes a visual update on your project status as it is going through our shop. We like to make sure you have a visual view of where your project is and can get excited about the little details you’ve chosen.
Estimate
We understand that every project is unique, and that’s why we provide detailed estimates based on your project’s specific needs. To ensure transparency and avoid surprises, we promptly provide updated estimates whenever there are changes to the original project scope or design.
Task Lists
We create a task outline for clients, the shop carpenters, and any subcontractors that we may need to work with on your project to keep everyone organized and aware of what decisions or information needs to be obtained to stay on schedule and on budget.
Post-Construction Process
Maintenance
BoWood Custom Cabinetry are heirloom quality and we expect them to last for generations. Beyond the standard warranty we offer inspections and maintenance to easily keep your cabinetry looking and performing its best. No one knows your cabinetry better than we do.
Warranty
Created to ease your mind - we are so confident with our process and the resulting high-quality cabinetry that we proudly offer a 1-year warranty on everything we build. Something happens beyond that year? Just let us know and we’ll be happy to help repair or replace any item. Talk to us about the details of this warranty.
Installation
We can build the best custom cabinetry you’ve ever seen, but it needs to safely get installed in your home as well. We understand your home is a personal space and take great care to deliver and install your custom cabinetry, or work with your preferred installer to ensure all of the details are done correctly.
